On January 8, 2012 member of the club Anna Burdukova had a meeting with the elected Greek Union president Marie Pyrgaki and Mrs Vasso Stavrianopoulou in Athens, Greece.
On 2-4 December our club celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Charter in the wonderful company of 97 guests from 31 Soroptimist clubs of 9 European countries who we accommodated in one of the best hotels in the heart of St.Petersburg - the Ambassador, with its stunning panoramic view from the restaurant.
The Certificate was signed to confirm the Friendship link between Bergen and St. Petersburg SI clubs.
On 29 May our club planted perennial flowers, bushes and two trees in the yard of Hospice 3.

On 12 January 2011 our club awarded Arina Reznikova, a 4-year student of St.Petersburg state university, a title "Girl of the Year-2010".
In the framework of our project "Making a difference" more than 40 employees of Hospice 3 had 2 excursions in the Menshikov's Palace.They enjoyed spending time there with a wonderful guide - Nadezhda Zharkova.
On 25 December 2010 our club presented 100 tickets for the New Year celebration in Mikhailovsky Castle.
On 8 December our club celebrated the 19th anniversary of its foundation. The event took place in the unique Museum of Bread in the centre of St.Petersburg.
In the framework of the club project "Making a difference" a member of our club, Elena Pavlova, a certified ( Milan Academy) master of permanent makeup, stylist of the international level, 1prize winner of All-Russia competition in permanent makeup in 2010 offered her program of help to those women, who have some visible consequences of cancer operations.
On 15 November we organized a meeting of the children from the orphanage "Charity Home" with the glorious goalkeeper of St. Petersburg Zenit football team - V.Malafeev. This football team is a champion of Russia now and the most popular in our city.
On 21 October the female chamber choir "Orpharion" had a concert together with "Het Holland Concert Koor" conducted by O.L.V Jan Verhoef. Their concert took place in the Great Hall of the summer residence of Russian tsars -the Great Catherine Palace in Pushkin, wonderful suburb of St.Petersburg.
We invited an experienced landscape designer to visit Hospice 3 of our city where together with the staff we made a plan of improvement of inner yard for patients to rest in summer. The hospice patients suffering from cancer need some shelter from the direct sun rays when they rest outside the building in the hospice yard in summer. The place should be decorated with perennial flowers and beautiful plants to look more pleasant and nicer.
On October 30, 2010 we started a new project called "Charity Home Meetings" as a part of our long-term project - assistance to the orphanage. We decided to organize a number of meetings of the orphans with prominent people of our country. Orphans lack good examples of successful people who achieved a lot in their lives through hard work, strong character and the ability to reach their goals.
