Latest projects

  • Svetlana Adrianova has become the Girl of the Year 2011. In her school she is the president of the Club of those who are in love with Italy. She has made many successful presentations including "Comparison of the traditions of Italy and Russia", "Russian and Italian cuisine", "The largest cultural centers of Italy". Svetlana is the organizer of meetings with students and professors from the Italian Institute of Culture.

  • This new project is initiated by new members of the Club to know each other better - jobs, interests and hobbies. The club members make presentations about their jobs, invite us to exhibitions, concerts etc. Through this project we strengthen our relations within the club.

  • We started this project in 2010 as a part of our ongoing project "Charity Home". We try not only to give presents to children from the orphanage and support their theatre performances but through our new project give them an opportunity to experience kindness and beauty of a better world than they used to know before coming to the "Charity Home".

  • We continue our cooperation with the city hospice number 3 in Pargolovo. The Hospice was organized only 15 years
    ago and this form of taking care of people suffering from cancer is quite new for our country. The number of patients has been growing as cancer is widely spread in Russia.

Education: projects with video content

  • Supporting talented children the International Women’s Club “Soroptimist International St.Petersburg” became the sponsor of one-minute video film competition in order to increase environmental awareness of younger generation.Video films were shot by the children within one day directly during the time of the International Festival of Children and Young people’s Cine and Video Creative Art “Petersburg screen” held in May 2008 in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Education/ Culture

  • "Image of water in Music" is a concert tour of the female chamber choir "Orpharion".

    Our club patronizes the creative activity of the female chamber choir "Orpharion". This choir having 25 members is conducted by Olga Senkova (Vocar). The majority of the choir participants are the former singers of the famous children's choir of St.Petersburg Radio and Television, they are not professional musicians but their love to choir singing makes them devote their free time to "Orpharion" born in 2004.

  • Our club received the “Best Practice Award” in 5th nomination at the Governors’ Meeting in Ghent, Belgium on 3 July, 2010. We are happy to be recognized!
  • In August 2010 the female chamber choir “Orpharion ” completed its concert tour in Austria and Czech Republic. The choir had concerts in Vienna – Cathedral of St.Peter, Salzburg -St. Johannes Capistran Church Gneis, Prague – kostel sv.Vavrince na Petrsine .

  • We continue our joint project with Greek soroptimists: our club initiated the organization of competition in the best translation of a Modern Greek original text into Russian.

    We organised "Image of Water in Art" exhibition of photography and applied decorative arts with the help of the House of technical and vocational education and the Club friends to attract public attention to ecological problems of today, importance of water in our life and careful attitude to water sources.

Economic and Social Development

  • "Better world to children" is the year "2010 project - a part of our ongoing project "Charity Home" lasting for almost 19 years already.

  • February, 2009.

    It is a part of ongoing project of aiding the Charity Home. 3 girls-patients of the psychoneurological dispensary №1, who study machine knitting with the help of our club president, knitted 50 scarves for the orphanage children. The state finances only the certain number of children in the Charity home, but this number is constantly changing.
